Description:

'Nellie Rose' Is an immaculate Timber ketch a traditional Cruising Yacht with everything onboard you need to continue her journey. Ribs brush box / American oak 1'3/4 Huon Pine with copper nails and roves. Her solid deck is Queensland white beech. There is something magical about timber yachts they are a living thing and although they need a little extra care there is a huge sense of accomplishment as you achieve this. 'Nellie Rose' was designed by William Atkin based on Colin Archer design then built by the current owner under the watch full eye of T Whitfield a ship wright with years of experience in building timber Yachts. Two years after launching and sea trials she was given a full survey and received a raving review. She was built in Melbourne Vic launched in 2000 then sailed around bass straight to the North coast of Tasmania Launceston and the Tamer. Once She had completed this part of her journey she made her way back to Melbourne then South Australia where she lies now. This boat may be known by Timber boat enthusiasts she made her way back to Geelong for numerous timber boat festivals where she was a stand out. The workmanship is exquisite even the hand basin in the head was made from timber and cleverly slides out when needed then slides back in when not to give the owner more room. If you are in the market for a timber yacht this is a must see.
